Meath SFC Leinster Championship Preparations

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Thought I would start a thread on Meath SFC preparations. Any news on challenge matches? Any injuries? Kevin Reilly was injured but has now played twice for Navan O'Mahonys.

Any word of additions to the panel or players dropped off the panel? From the games I saw BobbY O'Brien from Ratoath and Alan Douglas from Trim look like playrs worth considering. I do think that the panel needs a little fresening up after the league. Any stand out performers in the senior football championship?

Playing Cavan on May 10th in a challenge in Virginia, didn't hear of any other matches yet but I dare say there will be a good few more held. True Bobby O'Brien is playing well but some people here would have a canary if another Ratoath man landed on the Meath panel !!!

Jesus, this forum would explode if Ratoath had a sixth player in the squad.
Bobby would be a great addition to the squad talent wise. Howeve, his discipline would need to improve.

If Ratoath got a 6th player on the panel this place will explode...
TBF if O'Brien came in for Joey Wallace or Bryan McMahon i'd have no complaints
McGill and Power have justified there inclusions and Eamonn Wallace should be flying come championship time on harder gorunds

Donal Lenihan from Dunboyne perhaps worth a mention but is he a better option than say the three Ratoath lads above or Sean Tobin??

To be honest I would not be surprised if Bryan McMahon lost his place.

Surely this Down time that is club games should be used to bring the squad together to work on classroom style plans /plays/tactics and not waiting to nearer game time like we have done before , prepare ,prepare, prepare ?

Ratoath Royal -the only guys that have exploded on this site are the ones from your own club! -the appear to get upset when a different opinion to their their own is posted. Most of the better players that I have seen over the weekend are not on any county panel. I do appreciate that guys on the panel are putting in a lot of time and effort in training as is the normal now with inter county football.

I definitely think donal lenihan is worth another look plus I was always a big fan of dalton mcdonagh but looks like he is struggling for form at the moment

A little off topic, but when you see Dublin destroying a team like Cork,it really does not bode well for us..

To be honest Ziggy the way that Cork team went about their business today I reckon we would have beaten them well, Cork should be ashamed of putting such a lacklustre effort into a National Final, they had no interest in it and Dublin hadn't much more, it was kind of cringeworthy at the presentation of the cup and Cluxtons speech...

Ratoath Royal after edging it out agaisnt Castletown in the intermediate grade i see no issue with 6 Ratoath players in the Meath squad.
How has a proud footballing county fallen so badly.
You should be exploding that you have so many players involved with meath and play at the grade your at.
From what Ive seen I dont think Rotoath have the heart to win inter this year.

More concerning is Micko sees fit to have so many players from one intermediate club in the squad. Again u take it personal but if he had 6 players from Nobber i would have the same issue.

preparations should be fairly straight forward,a few challenges,a few wins,a hammering in leinster final and who knows after that.
