Brendan Davis Cup Final

(Oldest Posts First)

Big game Saturday evening in Kildalkey. Trim v Killyon in final. This could be Trim's toughest test yet. Killyon will hit hard and prob try take Toher out of game as Toher has been Trim's main man all year. Killyon have good forwards too like Gannon and Raleigh which might cause an upset against favourites Trim. Any opinions on game??.....

Trim will win this by 8 points. Killyon are tough but lack the quality necessary.

Unless Kiltale can get their act together, Trim could win championship at a canter, just my opinion, they are way ahead of everyone else.

Great to see the Davis cup being ran and supported so well. Meath hurling needs this competition.

Trim are the form team in the county at the mo. But Kiltale, Kilmessan and Kildalkey will be getting stronger and better coming into August/September as they prime themselves for an attack at winning Jubilee. Trim might be peaking too soon.

I do agree Trim are more talented hurlers but Killyon are so difficult to play against and tough as nails. Yeah great to have a quality knock out competion like the Brendan Davis Cup back again, it's played at the right time of year in May as teams build up to championship and finals have being played in July. Unlike years ago knock out competions would start in November when nobody wanted to play and final used to be played about 2 years later, some joke back then. Credit where credit is due to Meath hurling fixtures at mo.

Trim will win by 5+ IMO. With forwards such as Neil Heffernan, Damo McGee and Ciaran Joyce all in flying form they'll be hard bet, also with the raw talent such as James Toher, Colm Doyle and Alan Douglas realistically they're miles ahead of Killyon although it is a final so anything could happen but Trim are relishing this game and might just be hungrier.

Killyon 0-14 Trim 0-9. Killyon deserved it on the night. Trim were wasteful in possession, dropping easy balls and missed a number of frees. Well done Killyon, Trim need to up their game from this performance if they want to get to a county final.

Enjoyable game
Kilyon hungrier and deserved they win could still qualify in the championship
Trim showed a few kinks in their armour they rely heavily on Toher and scoring frees.
Still they will qualify but I'm not sure how far they will go after that

Good game yesterday evening. My previous posts were accurate, Killyon are a really hard, tough team to play against and will cause any team trouble. Deserving winners. Trim had their wings clipped, they are NOT the real deal they think they are. Good to have summer finals, good crowd, great pitch, all players love this!(beats Dunngany in December any day )
