Nothing to lose, Dubs rampant favourites, hope we throw everything at them, including the kitchen sink.... Kildare have tough next game against Down, they didnt seem to bring alot of support yesterday...should be a good final....An Mhi Abu...hopefully

Very hard to drop McDonagh after yesterday Ziggy. Scored, made the pen and could have had 2 more .....worked tirelessly throughout.

All the pressure is on Dublin , I suppose the first 15 in the second half is crucial for us , if we can hold our game at that point we will upset the trend that they seem to have made for themselves .

Only one change to the team of yesterday would be in my opinion Newman in for Graham Reilly. If Meath take their goal chances against Dublin when the arrive we can win this game. Obviously Dublin are red hot favorite but I think they are far from unbeatable and are playing the toughest outfit in leinster bar themselves.

I was very impressed with Paddy O rourke yesterday with him nailing two very good points from serious distance and very cool under high balls. Carroll was also terrific

Improved performance against Kildare heartening. Dublin in final is another major challenge . Concerned about fitness for 75 mins for some players. Too many seemed to run out of steam incl. SOR,Meade Tormey,Menton, and maybe couple more. Hoping these lads can improve their stamina levels after their injuries. Shephen Bray a class player [ but we knew that anyway] hoping he can last for full match. Cenrefield stamina serious questions?
Graham Reilly p... or get off the pot!! Flanagan promising, and good man as sub.Tormey looks the part for frees, needs to concentrate and up stamina levels, but well done Andy promising!Mc Donagh unlucky with goal chances promising.Menton...jury out! Well done to MOD and co. good moves at the right times. Clear evidence of game plan, especially feeding Bray who must rate as one of the best forwards around
Too early to pick team for final. Too many questions re. fitness Newman must play if fit. Menton fit/ How is he going in training etc, etc
KEOHAN must play corner back! Against Dublin we have to have 5 good fit subs! Flanagan ,Kenny,MC Hugh, plus 2
Refuse to believe Dublin can't be beaten. Ignore media bull. Their forwards have to be man marked Keoghan style, and harried and given little room
Midfield have to scramble Kenny style for every loose ball. We must win aerial battles at midfield Shane o Rourke style.
So we CAN win the final. We have the ingredience. We have the right men with MOD AND CO..We now seem to be showing the right spirit? [ Dont know why we fell asleep for 25 mins in second half????] Do that against Dublin and they will wipe the floor with us .Biggest concern now fitness and stamina levels MEATH ABU

And will Newman play in half back line as Graham Reilly did yesterday? Are we really talking about that?
Micky Burke did well yesterday when brought in steadied the ship when needed, should be sprung from bench early next day . can't see much change as I've just heard Newman might not be back. Which is terrible news.

NOBULL

I agree with you, expect on Menton.. He worked his socks off tracking his man all afternoon.I know he didn't get on the ball much, but only back from injury, and he did a job.

Heard it from home area. Apparently hamstring not improving as hoped, so is doubtful . but hopefully will make it as I think we really need him in final.

I was talking to relation of Mickey Newman answer was "could of played but will be 100% fit next day"

My team:
POR
D Keoghan
K Reilly
E Harrington
D Tobin
B Menton
P Harnan
B Meade
SOR
A Tormey
B McMahon
G Reilly
D Caroll
S Bray

Ino Dalton McDonagh would be harsh to drop but we ended to take chances against Dubs
6 subs that should be used:Joey Wallace Paddy Gilsenan Seamus Kenny (if not starting) Dalton McDonagh Davy Bray then last sub doesn't matter Larkin maybe

Lads, on what was a comprehensive win yesterday, we missed way too many scoring opportunities. I agree that Dalton worked his socks off as did every single player, but IMO he, along with Wallace missed too many chances. Fair enough he scored the goal, but was allowed a clear run on goal srom 30 odd metres. Also, I would of thought that th winning of the penalty was almost another missed opportunity that another referee may not have given? Wallace also missed chances that simply couldnt be missed on another day.
With that in mind, neither in my opinion will start the next day. I do believe that they got huge experience from the kildare, along with Flanagan. My starting team would be:
1 POR
2 E harrington
3 K reilly
4 Keoghan
5 Harnan
6 Menton
7 D Carroll
8 Meade
9 O Rourke
10 D Tobin
11 G Reilly
12 A Tormay
13 B McMahon
14 S Bray
15 Micky Newman

Dont get me wrong, i am not slating the performances of the lads playing yesterday, just the experience will count the next day and in my opinion Newman and McMahon are more clinical and will be fit to play the next day. If these guys played yesterday Meath would have won by 10 points at ease. I really think we can rattle the dubs again and will be closer than last year. The Dublin panel is obviously stronger but we have a stronger panel than last year, despite our current injuries.

You could do with a midfield player (e.g. Adam Flanagan) on that bench!

Meath will win. We only operated at about 40% yesterday. We will be ready and will be the better team on the day.

Meathmen I hope we didn't work at 40% cause a lot of boys were wrecked with 10 mins to go so wouldn't lick to see what it would look like at 100%

Real pity we didn't have Gillespie,so perhaps we could have played SOR and brought Meade on later for him

Yesterdays game was a sign that meath actually have a good chance against the Dubs, the way we set up yesterday was pure preparation for the dubs by playing the counter attacking game,i was chatting to 2 meath players last week and i was really surprised how confident they were about beating kildare and how right they were,i thought meath were very good yesterday and their game plan was excellent and worked wonders. To beat dublin we will have to have super performances by 21 players and have at least a 4-5 point lead at half time, tobin and reilly did huge work off the ball yesterday and created the space for bray who really loves playing in croker.the service he got from his teammates was very good especially from carroll.Laois made dublin look very ordinary and should have been 5 points up at half time so can this meath panel do the same ?? absolutely, dublins full back line is weak in my opinion and bray and co could exploit it if they get the same service as yesterday.yesterdays game will bring shane o rourke on another 20%,all the pressure on the dubs, and guys they dont like pressure, especially from meath men, gonna be a cracker....hon the royals.
