Fair to say Ratoath got the easiest group...groups A & B VERY TOUGH.

On paper yes but this is a very unpredictable championship as we say every year. Ratoath and Nobber probably favourites and Castletown, Ballinabrackey and St Michaels won't be very far away

Nobber should win, apart from that Ballinabracky and Castletown should be thereabouts

with that draw, i can see ratoath walking it. they have strenght in depth everywhere and should be a walk in the park if everything goes right for them.

I imagine any team would win it if everything went right for them.

Nobber will beat most teams with the likes of Brian and Alan Farrell,They were very unlucky to lose to Dunshaughlin in the play offs last year ,hit the bar twice in the first half . . I think even ballinbracky with there 14 men in defence marking Farrell wouldnt beat Nobber!!

which is the group of death? - A or B?
very difficult to try and call it outright! what was does the semi-final/quarter final work?
I cant remember what way it was done last year?

1st from which groups go straight into the semi finals?

It's the same system for all 4 top championships: 3 groups of 6, top 3 teams from A go through to quarter finals, top 2 from B and top 2 from C also go through to the quarter finals. The third placed team from B plays the 3rd placed team from C to determine who gets the 8th quarter final spot.

Bravo just seen your post is that the way qualification goes not really fair on 3rd place teams from groups b and c..any way have to say the draw was very kind to ratoath to avoid the stronger teams they done very well..I can't see anyone stoping them this year very strong panel of players would of won it last year if Wallace wasn't suspended and b'o brien injured..Castletown and bracks won't be to far away..

What about the relegation for this grade , who's the favourites? Also. Is it one team going down.

I think top two in Group A will be St. Micheals and Nobber Group B Colmcilles and Trim Group C Ratoath.Relegation could be Kilmainham, Ballinlough, and either Carnaross or Ultans. Ratoath will cruise through their group but like last year will be found out when they meet the big guns in knock out stages. Trim have a lot to prove and will be in the mix but I expect one of the other three to snatch it.

Goldstar..nobber won't be in top 2 in group A.there in group b.for relegation I think the two promoted teams will do enough to stay up won't qualify for knockout phase tho..maybe ballivor mite go down if there form from last year continues..

Thanks for pointing that out bullet! Still think Nobber are good enough for top 3 in that group so still in with a chance to qualify. I expect Castletown and Bracks to join Micheals from group A.

Nobber and Rathoath will really be up for it. Trim as well. Think those 3 are the standouts. Tentatively I say Rathoath

Group B does look the strongest, with the right management in place Nobber, St Colmcilles, Ballinlough or Trim could test Ratoath in the knock out stages.

Ratoath could send out their U21 team for this year and still win Group C. Carnaross and St Ultans must be sick of the sight of each other. I think they've met in the championship every year since St Ultans were relegated from senior in 2010!

Ratoath definitely favourites with Nobber, St. Michaels and Trim main challengers. Ballivor/Carnaross/Kilmainham for relegation. The ties of Rd 1 have to be the two north meath derbies: Syddan vs Nobber and Castletown vs Michaels

Cilles have very strong manager this year in Mickey Conlon, I think they will be strong, very competitive and he will install the belief that they can do it this year, but standout team has to be Ratoath....
