Wondering who Owen Roe's are?

(Oldest Posts First)

I was searching through the new GAA website and must say that it is very good and alot better than before. But in the roll of honour section I noticed that the Meath Senior football winners included a team called Owen Roe's being victorious in 1897. Just wondering if anybody could enlighten me as to who the Owen Roe's club are now or represented then?

I have a good idea who the remainder were or are now. (Also were North Meath an amalgamation winning in 1950? I'm not 100% sure but thought they were Nobber Casltetown amalgamation. Probably incorrect!)

Their pitch eas the far side of Platin Just before the Bridge when you enter drogheda...
They covered the south side of Drogheda and platin area.
The Wolfe tones play there now and are a junior team in louth...

Ok yeah I know the pitch on the left hand side as you drive into Drogheda. Do anyone know if North Meath were an amalgamation or not?
