I might be stating the obvious here but we need to defend better next year. ie we need to stop teams running at through us. I noticed any time we ran at Kildare we where hit hard. We need a couple of Liam Haran type figures (Alan frode is good at this ) to police lads running through. and its kinda a collective thing we seem to has loss the art of defending. Andy Mc Antee was saying today that nobody wants to just straight out defend anymore.
Also I think as county we need get away from the two inside forwards and the long ball in, Its easy to defend against. For starters we dont have the top class forwards to win a high percentage of there own ball and convert the chances. Also we dont seem to have the players to deliver quality ball in. If you take the Dongeal game especially in the first half we lost a lot ball going over the side line balls been cut out and lads just not winning the ball. When we ran at Donegal and worked the ball we got a lot more success. Sure there is a time and place for long ball in. I would try to get away from this as game plan if might work against a weaker side but in general its not been effective as tactic against Kildare or Donegal.

I think it is time paddy o rourke is tired out feild put him mid feild he will catch balls for you and get the mark that is what they were missing in the Kildare game along with some forwards that can finish in front of goals one goal in 4 championship games not good enough

The management team made a lot of mistakes this year, no one can realistically say otherwise, but he deserves 1 more year to make amends.

I would question if there's any improvement on the team that many on here were so desperate to get rid of last year but that's another story.

I know. We narrowly avoided relegation and we collapsed in every second half, letting leads slip, we looked no fitter, same as last few years. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, oh wait !

Still in D2 knocked out of the championship early hammered in Leinster. At least we won the O'Byrne Cup last year!

It's OK we "looked fitter" so it was a great year and a vast improvement. If we keep improving at this rate we can maybe dream of one day matching Carlow!!!

Yeah I know !! Your absolutely right..Royaldunne has a blinkered opinion on Meath results so I wouldn't take him too seriously

We won't beat Dublin for about 15 years min. It's tough to be a Meath fan right about now

well you can't say that. tend to go by 3 year cycles and then look at it again. but for sure not beating them in 3 years or getting close to doing so.
