Best of luck to the Meath Hurlers today. I think we'll win comfortably if we perform to our potential. Prediction Meath 3-18, Wicklow 0-14.

Another great result for hurling in the county and the momentum of 2016 carries on, now for a good run in Leinster to more smiles to our faces, well done to all concerned, a fantastic result

Delighted with this. Meath hurling really coming into its own now. Well done to the team coaches and all associated with Meath hurling over the years.

Hopefully we can nail down a place among the top teams now.

Great victory. But we'll need to up it 100% at least once in the round robin. Great to get promoted but the teams they've played are not the best preparation for the Leinster championship.

Great win I said meath win by 10-12 and we surpassed that. Part 1 achieved for 2017. Part 2 on the horizon to get one win in Leinster hopefully in game 1 or 2 and then we could aim to qualify

Well done to hurlers on their win. I expected them to win well and be high scoring., we have some excellent scoring forwards on the panel at this moment and that shone thru. We didn't play well overall apart from 10 minute spell, and there is so much more in this team, positioning and starting team selection needs to be got right for Leinster games as yesterday wouldn't be good enough to win. If we do we'll take a win or two.

As the saying goes JOB WELL DONE by our hurlers yesterday. Fantastic display of fast, skilfull hurling in the first ten minutes of the second half. 1-6 without reply whtch killed the match.

Good result and its not before time we have gained promotion from a very weak 2B. We need to pushing for promotion from 2A with this team which in turn should make us competitive in the Leinster champ.
The game itself played out as expected, probably should have been over at half time if management had seen sooner that Whitty was in trouble at full back, 2 very soft goals as a result of full forward been in total control. This position needs to be resolved for Leinster, Healy did well when he went there in the second half, maybe an option.
Onwards and upwards to the Leinster which I think with the right team selection we can cause a couple of surprises, squad looks to be hurling well and plenty of competition for places which is a welcome bonus. Plenty of scoring forwards but backs need to tighten up as the step up into Leinster these weaknesses will be exposed by the better teams

Anyone know if Toher will be allowed play in the Leinster Round Robin? Given that there will be over a month between the hurlers' and footballers' games, I would hope he will be.

Toher and Burke dropped from the panel according to the Chronicle

That's not really surprising. Given Gerry mcEntees opinion of hurling, I would have been surprised had Andy been accommodating towards dual players.
To be honest though, I can't see how players can manage to play both games at a high level. I know a few players manage it, but inevitably one sport has to suffer. The demands on a top inter-county footballer or hurler are just too high to be able to commit fully to both.

Nothing to do with the Mcentees he was dropped by the hurling management and to be fair they probably made the right decision. Not fair on the fellas that have been playing through out the league. Don't think it's possible any more to play both codes at County level.

Agree with that decision. You can't have lads on the panel who are not there for every training session and match it's very disruptive and belittling to the other lads who are there all the time. Regardless of how good they are you have to draw a line somewhere.
