Meath v Donegal

Happy with team. Might be couple of changes, but I wouldn't be hot up over team starting, its a 21 man game. Everton is vital, look Rory had 2 great sub games when he started a bit flat, I think Andy realises there might be a yellow card or two early on and brin will be brought on, jones is obviously the worry

yeah that would be a worry for me to be honest.

And will Fylnn stand by Andy and the team if they got destroyed playing like that ??

You probably need to listen to the full interview. In fairness it wasnt put as simply as that. He did talk about shortage of players etc

Can't complain about the home draw. Would put Donegal 5 point favourites in this game. Meath are better than they showed so hopefully it will be ok Saturday in front of the home
Crowd.

Just as well Andy is in the driving seat and not Bernie!

I understand "trow away the shackles" as letting go of mental inhibitions particularily fear , rather than letting go entirely of plans and tactics. I dont think anyone suggests that.

Jones will start on looked good last week until he got dead leg reckon that should be sorted. BTW did anyone notice how big he looked v Sligo while he looked like a school boy v Kildare.
Have a feeling D Tobin may start instead of Harnan something I would not agree with but I do think Tobin deserves a starting spot.

I have a feeling Newman could also start with lenehan or S Tobin loosing out lenihan most likely as at least Tobin scored a few late on

Bit disappointed but not surprised by the team selection if that's the 15 that start on the day. I guess the only shining light for me is that the team that finishes the game should be stronger with Conlon, Newman, Donnacha Tobin and Thomas O'Reilly to come off the bench. Just hope it's not beyond us by then because a repeat of the Sligo display won't see us in the contest with 15/20 mins to go.

Flynn said the exact same about Westmeath before they played dubs, honestly people in wm are furious with him. His have a cut attitude was listened to.

I'd envisage a couple of changes alright, sure he named the same team for the sligo match as started v kildare. This is the same team that started v Sligo..

I could see Conlon in for Power and Tobin in for Shane McEntee. Ruairi O'Coileain could drop out too

But as someone said we finished with a stronger team with Newman and Tobin joined by Conlon and O'Reilly.. thats how Dublin have leaped ahead by having a stronger 15 finishing the matches than starts.

Have my two tickets for it anyways so hopefully the weather holds up and myself and the oul fella enjoy a good game.

Yeah, actually listened to it. I think he means we need to get Biggie COS ROC Keoghan fired up and running at Donegal. Rather than a system change. I hope we got a plan to deal with Murphy ? Hope he not left one on one with Mc Gill or anyone for that matter.

Year sure if they played defensive the would have only lost by 20 points !! And they would have said why didn't we have a go !! Westmeath wouldnt have won in a million years ! Can't win either way !!

Getting near now lads. Ideally I would love to see us winning ball around the middle and raining balls into Murphy at the edge of your square but that's a fanciful notion. Up here, we really have no idea what kind of performance to expect. Anything like we've seen in the last two games will lead to a Meath win. But the eternal optimist in me is hoping that we can deliver a performance that I know our players are capable of. If we can get Ryan McHugh knifing through your defensive lines it'd be a good start! Anyways, enjoy the game and may the best team win.

As everyone has said its about the panel of players. Not who start.s.
Each must be as good as what they replacing. Far too long has our bench been our weak link, not this week.
Have faith we can and we will win this.
