Good decision 3 years was a good stint maybe now some of the best hurlers in the County will come back into the fold, James Toher, Michael Burke, Jack Regan, Sean Heavey Brownepat (Meath) - Posts: 532 - 14/07/2017 20:51:31 2016689 Link 0 |
Defo brought us on good team with him strange he didn't continue for one more year. Reco (Meath) - Posts: 419 - 15/07/2017 12:27:37 2016859 Link 0 |
He said yesterday on the radio that he felt three years was enough, new voice needed & that he wanted to give some time back to his family etc.

Going to put my neck on the line here. Martin Ennis has way less of the blame to carry than others in relation to the James Toher incident. Michael Burke always put football first and that is his choice which I respect. Jack Regan and Sean Heavy did play under Martin, Jack got injured and did not find his way back on to the team which was then settling down into a sort of settled team/match day squad that proved equal to the task in 2016. Sean Heavy was part of the fore mentioned squad until this year and I believe left on good terms with both the squad and the manager. Finally I want to thank Martin for his efforts, even though he had a few knock backs during his tenure he eventually got there and for that we all should be eternally grateful. I would also wish the new management team equal success but they will have a hard act to follow. Remember the "burn the hurleys" gang are still around and not doing a lot of good really but well capable of up-scuttling the efforts of the hurling people.
