IMO Trim gaa is the best pitch in Meath with terrific facilities, why in gods name is there only one game in it over the weekend and six in PT ? Hope the weather keeps up because if we get a few days rain next week PT will get some battering with six games.

i was thinking similarly but having gone through the venues i think the venues are just about alright . Myabe Na fianna ratoath could have been played there. must of the venus for the first team games are in fairly neutral half way point pitches so for once cant fault the co baord too much. there is a couple of wierd venues but overall think they done a decent job of it this time

Anyone know why there's games Wednesday and Thursday? I know there's been games on Thursday before, but Wednesday is a strange one

At this stage I think we should be grateful the championships are getting underway at all!

Only 10 minutes between both pitches, just think it's a lot of traffic on the one pitch when a better surface and facilities down the road.Three in each maybe.Na Fianna & ratoath was a no brainer for trim, anything to do with revenue maybe ? Easier collect the money in Navan maybe.Just hope they have stewards out parking cars instead of 8 of them standing at tunnel drinking tea.

I presume a club looked for it and the other club agreed, delighted to be honest, plenty of games to go to over the few days.would still love to see a weekend ticket option to let you in to any game over the weekend.

ah well i think they are looking to spread the games out around the county strange bring meath hill and drumconrath to navan again. sure that should have been in nobber or kilmainhamwood

Dunshaughlin's main pitch is the best in the county.Even with no rain it has plenty of grass on it compared to some awful pitches in the county.
Trims 2nd best in my opinion.
Seneschalstown pitch is like a quarry. Very bad job done on its drainage.
Ashbournes main pitch is a bauld as a coot..
Skyrnes is also very un-even.

The best is PT and especially when it is not overused in W/T , Stamullen would be next, access and exit to both is easy for both which is helpful. Dunshaughlin is good but small, Trim is also very good and has the advantage of very few games especially throughout winter. There are quite a few other very good surfaces like Kells, Drumconrath, Bective (possibly Ratoath)- I could go on.

What was reason for changes in championship
Dates and venues
How are dunsany getting the Na Fianna V Ratoath game , first of all long way from Enfield and not a great venue, they seem to get a lot of games for a small club
I wonder why ???!!!

andy wants the meath panel together on sunday morning so they were moved.
agree it is exactly halfway between na fianna and ratoath but sure what can ya do.
just out of curiosity where would you halve it? dunsany's not a bad venue , ideally should be trim

No brainer it should be trim or even summerhill or Moynalvey but Dunsany!!!
They get an awful lot of matches in my opinion because of there representatives on CB
The ground is certainly not in the top 20 on the county especially in south meath

Another pitch in which I think that should get more games is syddans. It's not the best club house but the pitch is in good condition and they 've but a lot of work into it.

Gibbstown with its central location has a brand new pitch opening soon, great surface but there are drainage issues I believe

thats a bit harsh now, dunsa ny used to get a lot of games but hasnt for a while. pitch is always in good order for games anytime ive been there. trim is probably the best surface in the county. summerhill would be too close to na fianna no?

Anyone know what way the gate receipts get split for championship (or indeed league) matches?

25% to club for champo anyway. The rest gets divided up to CB and Development. Less the referee which comes from the gate too

League I think is kept by the club again minus the ref
