Gerry Reilly Cup: Meath take on Laois for a place in the final

Meath take on Laois this evening in the 3rd round of the Gerry Reilly Cup. The winner will face Monaghan in the Cup final 

Both teams have been very impressive to date and are unbeaten. It promises to be a terrific game and one not to miss.

Laois have been very impressive in their first year in this Under 16 inter rcounty competition. Both teams have recorded good wins over Longford and Louth.

Monaghan were forced to dig deep in their third round game but a late goal sealed their win and a place in the decider.

Round 1 Laois 3-14 Louth 1-13, Meath 3-17 Longford 1-16. Round 2 Meath 5-18 Louth 6-6, Laois 4-10 Longford 2-13

• The tournament to be run on a 'round robin' basis, each team plays each other in their group. 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw
• Group positions based on score difference in the event of teams on same points
• Top teams in each group qualify for the Gerry Reilly Cup Final
• Second team in each group qualify for the Gerry Reilly Plate Final
• Third team in each group qualify for the Gerry Reilly Shield Final
