FL Div 3: Good win for Bective

May 01, 2017

Bective's Paul McCabe

Bective 2-12 St Ultan's 0-14

Bective upped their intensity for this competitive home match versus St Ultan's, but still found themselves 1 point behind at half time while playing into a strong diagonal breeze.

St Ultan's started the scoring with a fine point but this was trumped by a well worked Bective goal finished by Cathal Mc Connell.

St Ultan's continued to pop the points, some of which were great efforts from distance. However Bective worked hard at closing down their opposition and retained the ball well but missed some good chances and only added a further 4 points to St Ultan's 8 points at the break.

Bective, now with the breeze favouring them, continued their hard work ethic in the second half and created good scoring opportunities. A swift move put Paul McCabe through to slot home a second goal.

Although St Ultan's kept taking the game to Bective they found it hard to break through the layers of defence and added another 6 points to their tally.

Bective's commitment delivered turnovers and they added 8 points from 6 different players, and were ahead at the final whistle at 2-12 to 14 points.

Best for Bective were Ben Malone, Kevin Brennan, Ciaran Reilly, Marty Mulhall and Cathal Mc Connell.
