HL Div 4: Great start for Ratoath 2nds

March 20, 2017

Ratoath's Conleth McClarnon

Ráth Tó 2-13 Clann Na Gael 1-6

Ratoath's second team recorded an impressive victory against Clann NaGael in Grangegodden on Saturday evening.

Playing into a strong wind. Ratoath opened the game with a string of scores however, Clann Na Gael rallied towards the end of the first half. Still Ratoath managed to go in at the break 1 point ahead.

With the wind behind them in the second half Ger Clarke's charges kept their opposition scoreless for the duration with eight different players getting on the scoresheet as they eventually ran out 10 point winners.

A notable feature of the game was that Ratoath emptied the bench during the second half giving some younger hurlers their first taste of adult hurling.

A good evening's work for the first outing of a second Ratoath league hurling team for many years.

Best for Ratoath were Luke Farrell, Conleth McLarnon and Keelan Fahy.
