'Deep regret' expressed following the death of Robbie O'Malley's father

Former Meath great Robbie O'Malley

The death has occurred of two-time Meath All-Ireland winning corner-back Robbie O'Malley's father.

Drogheda resident, Robert (Bob) O'Malley snr, formerly of Laytown, Bettystown and Castlebar, passed away peacefully on Saturday.

St Colmcille's GAA stated: "It is with deep regret to announce this morning the passing of Bob O Malley Snr, father of our dear friend and former player, Robbie."

Funeral arrangements:

Reposing at his son's house, Piltown Road, Bettystown this evening from 7pm and tomorrow from 2pm to 8pm. Removal on Tuesday morning to Church of the Sacred Heart, Laytown for Requiem Mass at 11am, burial afterwards in Relig Mhuire, Cemetery. House private on Tuesday morning please.
