U17 Div HL Final: Na Fianna hold off spirited Killyon/Longwood

Na Fianna are crowned U17 Division 1 Hurling League winners at Dunganny

Na Fianna: 0-16 Killyon/Longwood: 0-14

Na Fianna managed to get past the tough challenge of the Killyon/Longwood amalgamation on Saturday afternoon in Dunganny to land the U17 Div 1 HL title.

Na Fianna played against a strong breeze in the first half and found the going tough with their opponent showing great tenacity. Sean Martin, Kean Flynn and Shane Walsh were all on target with points for Na Fianna which ensured that they were only four behind at half time, 0-10 to 0-6.

Na Fianna found scores easier to come by in the second half with Kean Flynn and Shane Walsh leading the charge in the forwards. Luke Kelly chipped in with a great point as Na Fianna managed to get their noses in front towards the end of the match. Late points from Walsh and Flynn ensured the cup went to Na Fianna in what was a great final with brilliant hurling produced by both sides.

Na Fianna were best served by Oisin McCloskey, Daniel Devine, Kevin Coffey, Luke Kelly, Shane Walsh. Daire Slattery, Sean Martin and Kean Flynn.
