The winners finished with six scorers and 2-8 from play.

Despite an increasing wide count, Boardsmill upped their lead during the second quarter. Ray Hatton's 17th minute goal left it 2-2 to 0-2.

Boardsmill outscored Clann na nGael by 0-4 to 0-1 over the remainder of the opening half, going 10 points clear following Niall Weir's 29th minute effort from play.

A third O Donnchu pointed from trimmed the Athboy-Rathcairn side's deficit just before the break.

Clann na nGael's top scorer posted the first score of the second-half. Boardsmill 'keeper Vinny Guy did his bit to prevent the team in green and gold from registering a goal.

By the end Boardsmill had six different scorers from play, including wing-back Cian Royston's long range point one of the highlight's of a low-key second-half.
