IHC: 2 in a row for Kilskyre/Moylagh

Kilskyre/Moylagh's Derek Muldoon

Kilskyre/Moylagh 2-16 Kiltale 2-9

Conditions were perfect in Kilmessan on Thursday evening as the newly combined Kilskyre/Moylagh met Kiltale to battle it out in round 2 of the IHC.

Kilskyre/Moylagh got off to a good start when the ever busy Ronan McGuinness won the throw in and made a surging run right at the heart of the Kiltale defence, before passing the ball out to Eanna Brody, who calmly slotted the ball over the black spot.

That was short lived with Kiltale dominating the puck-outs in the first half along with smart forward play creating two goal opportunities and taking them both to lead by four points at half time.

Half Time: Kilskyre/Moylagh 0-8 Kiltale 2-6

It must have being Christy's Smyth's oranges and a couple of changes at half time by Kilskyre/Moylagh that was the ultimate difference between the two teams. Substitutes Joe Melia and Paddy Rahill made an immediate impact when introduced at half time, Melia setting up Peadar Byrne for a goal two minutes into the second half and they kicked off from there. Derek Muldoon sealed the game with 3 minutes of normal time remaining, slotting the ball into the net after great work in the backs by Seanie Geraghty and Lorcan Maguire before Joe Melia finally delivered the final ball to Muldoon.
