IHC: Drumree ease past Dunboyne

Drumree Intermediate hurlers kept up their recent good run of form when accounting for St. Peters Dunboyne on Sunday in Kilmessan. This was the same pairing that contested the Div. 2 Hurling League Final 3 weeks ago the result was never really in doubt as Drumree dominated throughout & were a few notches above their opponents.

They led 2-07 to 1-05 at half time thanks to goals from Shane Troy & Sean White before pulling away in the second half to run out convincing 3-18 to 2-08. Some great performances from David Wallace, James Reilly, Keith Rooney, Shane Troy & Fearghal Delaney.

Drumree Junior Hurlers went down to a strong Trim side on Sunday morning in the Junior Hurling Championship but can be proud of their spirited effort as they fought hard throughout & responded very well each time Trim got in for a goal. Joe O'Brien was leading from the front & was an excellent target man for Drumree & finished the day with 1-4 to his name. Liam Shanley was a constant threat throughout & finished the day with & points while Brendan Walsh at centre forward held his own & tagged on 2 points for good measure.

They are still very much in the championship & currently sit in 4th position in the table with 2 rounds left.
