Half time: St. Michaels 1-4, Trim 2-5.

St. Michaels completed their 2015 league campaign with narrow one point victory over Trim in Carlanstown on Wednesday evening. The game got off to a lightening start with 2 goals in the opening two minutes, Trim were first off the mark with their opener coming after 30 seconds, St. Michaels won their own kick-out and they set up an attack, the ball made its way to Peter O'Connell who launched a high teasing ball into the Trim square which caught everyone off guard including the Trim keeper James Andrews as it hopped over his head into the net. Christopher Drew and Jamie Farrelly added a point apiece to draw level with Trim at 1-2 apiece after nine minutes play. O'Connell added another point to put his side in front for the first time on 13 minutes however the visitors had the better of the exchanges for the remainder of the half as they fired home a further 1-3 as the home side could manage only one more point on the stroke of half time to reduce the deficit to 4 points and to leave it 1-4 to 2-5 in favour of Trim at the break.

Trim hit the ground running in the opening 5 minutes of the second half adding 1-1 to stretch their lead to 8 points. St. Michaels composed themselves and went on a scoring spree, points from Oran Meehan, J.B. O'Reilly and Jamie Farrelly steadied the sinking ship, Ronan Lynch found the back of the net on the 40th minute and two points from Ciaran Lynch and another O'Connell effort had the sides level for the fourth time after 47 minutes. Ciaran Lynch raised two more white flags to put his side back in front and complete a great comeback, however Trim hit back with a goal on 53 minutes andfollowed that up with a converted free to lead by two. Ciaran Lynch added two free's to level matters once more and an excellent effort from Robbie Briody off the left foot secured the points for the home side with a minute remaining on the clock.
