Curraha made it six wins on the trot with this decisive away victory against Meath Hill to move joint top of Division 4BFL with two games remaining. The away side started very brightly and had 1-03 on the board after 8 minutes with the green flag coming from Brian Cosgrave. Andrew Coyle opened the scoring with a point while his brother David added one along with Andrew Battersby. Meath Hill responded with two points from frees while Cosgrave added a point soon after.
Meath Hill weren't going to give in though and they scored three unanswered points to leave the sides level with a couple of minutes remaining of the half but points from Battersby and Padraig O'Hanrahan increased Curraha's lead to two only for a last minute free reducing the away sides lead to one at the break on a score line of 1-06 to 0-08.
Meath Hill were the team to start this half the brighter and they raised the green flag inside three minutes after a penalty but Curraha responded well with Coyle and Sean O'Hanrahan adding point to level the sides but Meath Hill were back in front after two pointed frees. Points from Sean Keogh and substitute Robert Reid kept Curraha in touch and another Keogh point had the sides level with fifteen minutes remaining. Curraha were the awarded a penalty but was missed by David Coyle and although this would seem to give the Hill the advantage Curraha dug deep and went two ahead thanks to Keogh and O'Hanrahan. Another free from a place ball had one between the sides with seven minutes remaining but a well worked move from the resulting kick out saw Cosgrave get his second goal of the game. Meath Hill put three between the sides with five remaining but Curraha battled hard to ensure victory with Keogh and Coyle adding two late points.
It was a great team display from Curraha with Sean Keogh standing out.
