Some couple of days for Sam

May 21, 2015

Ready to go. Meath players from left Ronan Ryan, Thomas McGuinness, Sam Ogungbe, James Mckeow, Jordan Browne and Kashif Ali before the Leinster MFC quarter final clash with Louth in Drogheda.

Last Saturday the Nobber star came on as a second half substitute to become the first player from Africa to wear the Meath jersey in Leinster championship action. The young Royals overcame a stern challenge from Louth in Drogheda and advanced to the Leinster semi final with a 0-12 to 0-11 win.

Ogungbe has been part of all Meath Development squads and was instrumental in guiding Nobber Under 17 and minor titles last year. He was also one of the stars  of the O'Carolan squad that reached the North Leinster  Senior B Colleges final.

Fast forward a few days later. Sam a student at O'Carolan College Nobber was awarded Student of the Year.

A great way to round off a memorable few days.
