Killary Emmets Mark Kelly

KILLARY EMMETS 3-11
GAEIL COLMCILLE 2-5

Killary booked a semi-final date with Clann na nGael following this Under-16 FL Division 3 play-off win at Ludlow Park.

When the sides clashed earlier in the competition it ended level but the outcome was rarely in doubt on this occasion as the Syddan/Castletown combination established an early stranglehold on proceedings.

With Cormac Rafferty and Stephen Tallon dominant in midfield Killary led 1-4 to 0-4 at the break. The goal arrived at the end of the opening quarter from Cillian Price while Mark Kelly (two), Eoin Lynch Duff and Padraic Dillon were on target with points.

Kelly increased the lead on the restart but a goal from the Kells boys on 34 minutes left the minimum between the sides.

Killary though responded in the best possible fashion as Price struck for his second goal. Eoin Lynch Duff (two) Tallon and Kelly added points to stretch the lead 2-9 to 1-4.

Kelly then made certain of victory with his sides third goal. Gaeil Colmcille had a consolation goal near the end but overall the losers attack got very little change out of the impressive Cathal Duff, Killian Markey and Ryan Summersby.

KILLARY EMMETS - Greg Weldon; Cathal Duff, Alan Weldon, Evan Hoey; Killian Markey, Ryan Summersby, Thomas McManus; Cormac Rafferty, Stephen Tallon 0-1; Padraic Dillon 0-2, Mark Kelly 1-5 (0-3f), Christopher Deans; Eoin Lynch Duff 0-3, Paul Bellew, Cillian Price 2-0.
