JFC D: Dunshaughlin outscored by Longwood

April 27, 2015

Dunshaughlin's Niall Kelly

Dunshaughlin 0-07
Longwood 1-16

Longwood ran out convincing winners in Moynalvey on Sunday evening in the opening round of the Junior D Championship and can thank some pin point accuracy by chalking up an impressive 1-12 from play to get two valuable points on the board.

A brace of David McCormack scores got Dunshaughlin off the mark with Mark Caldwell and a lovely Brendan Duggan score further adding to their tally to leave only 4 points in the game as the first half came to an end. Mark Caldwell got Dunshaughlin off the mark in the second half along with a trademark left footed Davey McCormack score now had just 2 points between the teams but Longwood seemed to find an extra gear to score 3 answered points. Another well worked Mark Caldwell score was keeping Dunshaughlin in the tie before the killer blow came for Dunshaughlin after 53 minutes with Longwod scoring the only goal of the game to now have them looking good as the game entered its last quarter. A converted Niall Kelly score was unfortunately all Dunshaughlin could muster up with Longwood running out convincing 12 point winners.
