St Vincents/Curraha 3-8
St Pats 1-9

St Vincents/Curraha made it three wins on the trot overcoming neighbours St Pats to secure two more league points in the division 4 under16 league at Ardcath on Tuesday evening. The win can be attributed to an outstanding first half by the home side with all but two of their final tally secured in the opening half.

St Vincents/Curraha dominated the opening ten minutes with Conor O Farrell in excellent form and opening the scoring with a well taken point. Patrick McGill following up with a long range effort before Evan Connor blasted to the net from close range after some excellent work by O Farrell. St Pats then got off the mark with a point but St Vincents/Curraha got back into their stride with two more points one each  O Farrell and Evan Connor. This was followed up by a sublime strike from Leo Corry from about 13 meters who picked his spot and placed the ball with pin point accuracy into the corner of the net. Further points by O Farrell and Connor followed with Nigel Hand rounding off the scoring spree with the home side's third goal. This left  St Vincents/Curraha well clear at the break on a scoreline 3-6 to 0-5.

In second half visitors St Pats raised their game considerable and hit 1-2 without reply in the opening ten minutes. Indeed were it not for some wayward shooting they could have troubled their host a lot more. St Vincents/Curraha defended resolutely though, with Ian Battersby in flying form ably assisted by Andrew Moriarty and Conor Harford who curtailed many of the visitors attacking moves. Mid way though the half Nigel Hand  fired over for St Vincents/Curraha's first score of the second half restoring the home sides three goal advantage. St Vincents/Curraha then had an opportunity to put the tie beyond doubt but they wasted a couple good goals chances.  St Pats plugged away and added another two points. However, Leo Corry was to have the final say with a point for the home side to secure the win.
