MFL: Moynalty lose in Nobber

March 18, 2015

Moynalty's James Cassidy

Moynalty 3-9
Nobber 6-9

Moynalty were second best in this north Meath derby at Nobber on a heavy pitch Monday night.

The home team had a whirlwind start scoring four goals in first 20 minutes of a very entertaining match. To be fair to Moynalty most teams would collapse after such a tough start but they dug in and bit by bit they reduced the arrears. The comeback was lead by in form forwards Ben Lynch and Cathal Reilly who scored 0-08 between them scoring from all angles . It was Lynch who made the burst in the 23 rd minute running at nobber defence and offloading to Fiachra Gallagher who blasted a great goal to the net.Suddenly it was game on and it was Moynaltys youngest player 15 year old Kyle Cussen who reduced the lead to only 4 points with a brillant run and finish to the net close to half time to leave score 4-04 to 2-06.

The second half ebbed and flowed with alot of chances at both ends , Nobber built up 7point lead again but back came Moynalty again with James Cassidy their best defender on the night crashing a great shot to the nobber net from a lynch pass on the run. However it was the home team who finished strongest yielding 1-02 in last quarter to run out worthy winners in the end .Best for moynalty were the aforementioned and the only regret on the night was the slow start which left the reds with too much to do.
