Team news: One change for Meath hurlers

February 20, 2015

Shane Whitty clears his lines against Meath during the NHL game at Lomans Park Trim.

After a disappointing opening round display against Kildare, Meath will be hoping to get their National Hurling League Division 2B campaign back on track with a trip to McHale Park to take on Mayo.

There's one change to the team that lost out to Kildare. Team captain Sean Heavey (injured) is replaced by Kilmessan's Darren Reilly. Longwood's Damien Healy will wear the captains armband. Dual star Mickey Burke, who came on as a first half substitute against Kildare is not listed in the subs.

Mayo defeated Donegal in round one 3-14 to 1-12.

A strong second half showng by Meath was enough to see off Mayo in the corresponding fixture last year. The Royals came out on top 0-12 to 0-7 at Lomans Park.

Meath team versus Mayo: Charlie Bird, Cormac Reilly, Shane Brennan, Shane Whitty, Damien Healy, Keith Keogan, Padraig Keogh, Stephen Morris, Darren Reilly, Patrick Conneely, James Toher, Alan Douglas, Jack Regan, Anthony Healy, Willie McGrath.
Subs: Conor Murray, Karl Ennis, Sean McGrath, Ciaran Joyce, Neil McLoughlin, Sean Doyle, Luke Martyn, Gary Kelly, Michael Dunne, Adam Gannon, Sean Quigley
