Meath's Simon Carty

Meath manager Mick O'Dowd has made sweeping changes to his starting 15 for this evening's O'Byrne Cup round 2 clash against Longford in Pairc Tailteann (7.30pm).

Right corner-back Simon Carty (Dunderry) and left half-forward David Toner (Curraha) are set for senior debuts while Ballinlough's Tom McCullen - who was introduced as a substitute in last Sunday's 1-13 to 0-10 victory over Westmeath - is given his first start at full-forward.

There are also starts for Mickey Burke, who will captain the side in the absence of Donal Keogan, Bryan Menton, Andy Tormey, Mark O'Sullivan and David Bray.

Menton and Bray made telling contributions to the opening round win after being introduced as substitutes while Conor McGill, Ciaran McConnell, David Dalton, Harry Rooney, Adam Flanagan, Fergus Toolan, Damien Carroll and Graham Reilly make way.

Meanwhile, Meath County Board want to remind supporters that admission to Pairc Tailteann is by ticket only and tickets can be purchased at the Commons Road end of the ground from the official ticket booth.

Turnstiles will be open from 6.30pm and patrons are advised to please come early.
