U15: Ratoath maintain unbeaten run

Under 15 Division 1 Championship

Ratoath maintained their unbeaten run in Division 1 of the Under 15 championship but were made to work hard having enjoyed  a great start to the game.

Trim were unfortunate to have a player injured in the warm up and the game was reduced to a 14 a side game. Ratoath started very well and got off the mark with a point from Connell Ahearne in the second minute. Andy Gerrard followed this with a cracking goal almost immediately and this gave Ratoath a platform to build on. Ratoath continued to apply pressure but kicked a number of wides before Ahearne notched his second point and Gerrard added his second goal on the 10th minute to widen the gap further.

Trim got off the mark in the 12th minute but this was to be their only score of the first half.

Ratoath added 3 more points between the 17th and 22nd minute with Peter Barry, Ahearne and Alex Neville all putting over. Leigh Sullivan then scored a goal on the 26th minute and on the stroke of half time added a second goal. In between Pierce Butler scored a lovely point following a surging run to leave the scoreline - Ratoath 4 - 6 : Trim 1 point.

The second half started with Pierse Butler scoring a goal but there was no further scores until the 40th minute when Trim scored a goal of their own. Andrew Gerrard replied with another goal for Ratoath - his third of the game. Ahearne added another point in the 43rd minute. Trim then scored their second goal and straight from the kick out won possession and scored a fine point. Gerard then backed another goal his third of the game before Ahearne scored another point on the 48th minute. This was to be Ratoaths last score. Trim rattled up a further 2 goals and 2 points in the last 12 minutes of the game to leave the final score line at
