Meath take on Westmeath this Sunday in Grangegodden.
Fitzsimons Cup: Meath play Westmeath

Neighbours Meath and Westmeath will go head to head this Sunday, December 8th, in the opening round of the Fitzsimons Cup. The inter county senior football tournament is organise by the Gaeil Colmcille (Kells) club.

The following Sunday the winners of Westmeath and Meath will take on holders Offaly. The losers of Meath and Westmeath will play Cavan in the shield final.

All Ireland final referee Joe McQuillan will take charge of Sundays game and he gets proceedings underway at 2 o'clock in Grangegodden, the clubs new development just outside the town.

THE BLACK CARD RULE WHICH HAS BEEN THE TOPIC OF MANY CONVERSATIONS LATELY WILL BE IN OPERATION FOR THE TOURNAMENT.
