Rathmolyon sailed into the Billy Byrne Cup Final on Monday evening defeating Wolfe Tones.

From the throw in, Rathmolyon were on fire when, within the opening minutes, Kevin Mulligan hit the back of the net with the first goal of the game for the Village.

It was a series of scores including a Jamie Doonan goal just before the break that kept Rathmolyon well ahead at halftime on a scoreline of Rathmolyon 2-12 Wolfe Tones 0-10

The second half saw Tones coming back as both sides clocked up seven points each but it was two goals from Joey Christie and another from Kevin Mulligan that secured the win for Rathmolyon to contest the final next Monday against Drumree at the home of The Billy Byrne Cup.
