Billy Byrne Cup: Regan inspires as Rathmolyon win battle of Villages

It was the battle of The Villages after being  postponed on three occasions when Rathmolyon took on Kildalkey in their group match of the Billy Byrne Cup.

Rathmolyon got off to a fast start with Cathal Regan and Kevin Mulligan clocking the early scores.

The hosts stayed in touch with a goal to bring them back into the game as ten points separated the teams at half time with  Rathmolyon 1-12 to Kildalkey 1-02.

It was an even second half with both sides scoring seven points apiece.

Rathmolyon held on to qualify for the semi final with ten points to spare.
