Boardsmill started with the wind behind them Stephen Gibbon got the game's the first point.
The winners took control the game in the last 15 and a flurry of points from James Ashe, Fergal fFattery, Eric McKay and Stephen Gibbons gave them a 0-9 to 0-2 interval lead.
Playing against the wind Boardsmill found it hard to get scores in the second half. A Rory Gordan goal kept daylight between the teams and Boardsmill held on for their first win of the campaign.
