New role for PRO of the Year 'Chivers'

Brian Kelly presents the Meath GAA PRO of the Year Award to Trim's John Andrews

Popular Trim clubman John Andrews has had to call time on his roll as PRO because of work commitments.

'Chivers' has seen it all in Meath hurling, from collecting SHC titles, an All Ireland Senior B medal, to club and county management and last year took over the position as club PRO.

There was never a week that went by that we at hoganstand.com did not get a match report or news from the Loman's Park outfit. It was no surprise to us the John was awarded the Meath GAA PRO of the Year Award at the end of last year.

Speaking to hoganstand.com the former county hurler told us that "he was going to work for Apple Maps, doing street views for them. I am flying to Eindhoven tomorrow, collecting a car and training for 3 days and then driving to Malaga in Spain to start. Thirty other people from Ireland are going tomorrow and were are teaming up with 30 more from mainland Europe."

Chivers will be away for 12 weeks at a time, home for a week and off again for another 3 months. He finishes in mid November and comes home but hopes to go at it again next February.

We need not worry though as John has put replacements in place to carry on his brilliant work as the club's PRO.

Best wishes on your travels John.
