Drumbaragh 0-14 Dunsany 1-11 

Drumbaragh came away from Dunsany with a point in this ACFL Division 3 round 3 encounter.

The visitors took a 0-6 to 0-1 lead early lead with Thomas Carry scoring four points. A brace from Conor Lynch before the break gave the visitors a 0-9 to 0-5 interval lead. 

It was point for point in the early exchanges of the second half. The moment of the match came when debutant goalkeeper Jamie Timmons pulled off 2 outstanding saves to keep the Emmets in the game. As he game entered the closing stages Dunsany got their goal to narrow the gap to 2 and tagged on two late points to leave the game all square at the final whistle.

Dunsany Report:

On a fresh blustery Sunday morning, Dunsany snatched a late point to grab a draw.

The visitiors started the better and raced into a 3-1 lead, Cathal Murphy pointing from a free for the homside. Drumbaragh aided by a stiff breeze in the first have were making the most of it and pressed ahead their advantage.  Pierre Fox and Shan Walh kept Dunsany in touch with some fine scores.

Drumbaragh again though extended their lead to 6 points but Eoin Harkin split the posts to leave it 10-5 at the break.

Dunsany brought in Danny Thynne and veteran Andrew “Cheesy” Keena to bolster the team at half time.

After the resumption the homeside began to grind down their opponets and started to pick off scores. Fox added further scores through frees and centre forward Alan Kelly contributing a point too.

Drumbaragh though were still keeping out of touch and added scores when posible to keep Dunsany more thana score away.

With 10 minutes left Walshe latched on to a breaking ball on the Drumbaragh 21 and found the corner of the net with his right foot. Dunsany now a point behind had the momentum but again Drumbaragh were able to score. Fox added another free to again leave the minimum between the sides.

Dunsany dug  deep and worked the ball from corner back position right through the field to find Fox in the right place to score the equaliser to rescue a point for Dunsany.
