Seneschalstown 1-7 Trim 0-6

Trim lost this Div 2 league match played in Fr Tully Park in Seneschalstown on a bitterly cold morning.

The home side got off to a great start and had a goal and a point in the score board after just three minutes. The goal came from a mistake from

Trim Keeper Peter Farrelll , in fairness you Farrell he had to go short as his half back line and midfielders gave him very little options due to lack of movement.

Trim got their first score in the sixth minute when Brian “The Beano” Dowling curled a lovely right footed kick over the bar from twenty seven meters out. Neither side managed to score again until the sixteenth minute , The Yellow Furze side putting the ball over the bar. The very lively Declan Dowling got the Reds second point from play in the twenty first minute . Daire Lynch added another just a minute later. Dimmy Higgins got the Town sides last score of the first half with a well taken point again from play in the twenty sixth minute.

Half Time Score : Seneschalstown 1-2 Trim 0-4

The home side got the first score in the second half and Trim responded straight away with a pointed free from Beano Dowling.

The sides traded points in the thirty fifth minute with The Trim score coming from the boot of ate Beano again. This was to be the Reds last score of the game as Trum failed to rais another flag in the final twenty five minutes. The Yellow Furze side scored another point in the thirty sixth minute and had to wait until the fifthy sixth minute to register their final score of the match.

In a very bad game of football Seneschalstown and Trim will be looking for vast improvement in their next match. Time and time again the Trim took the wrong options when shooting for points. They did not pass the ball to the forwards  who were in a better scoreing positions but instead took  long range shots that went wide on seven occasions in the second half.

Trim: Peter Farrell, Ger Dwane, Luke Moran, Rory McGrath, Declan Dowling (0-1), Cian Downes, Daryl Phelan, Robert Burke, Sean Fitzgerald, Connor Quigley, Dimmy Higgins (0-1), Paul Munnelly, Brian Dowling (0-3), Neil Heffernan, Daire Lynch (0-1). Subs Used; Joe Donohue, Mark Murray, Kieran Joyce
