Meath Hill come out on top in goal fest

Meath Hill NS  got the better of Rathregan NS in a high scoring Boys Division 5 football final.

First-half goals from Colin Breslin, Aidan Sheehy and Matthew Curtis propelled them into a 3-3 to 1-4 interval lead.

Michael Padden – who finished with an impressive 3-3 to his name – scored Rathregan’s three pointer in the opening period.

Rian Porter also got in on the goal scoring act for the team in blue and yellow on the resumption but there was no stopping Meath Hill in their quest for a first title since 2014.

Breslin and Curtis completed their hat-tricks to round off a fine all-round team performance from the Ella Martin captained outfit.
