Kildare finished with three goals to spare over neighbours Meath in this morning's Leinster MHC Shield semi-final at Pairc Tailteann.

The Lilywhites came away with a 3-11 to 0-11 success under their belts after pulling away in the second-half.

A closely-fought opening period finished with the visitors ahead by the narrowest of margins (1-4 to 0-6) but they seized control of proceedings on the resumption. Kildare were 1-3 to 0-1 up after ten minutes with the impressive Muiris Curtin raising the first green flag, firing a close range free to the Meath net. Curtin got in for his second goal midway through the second half. Substitute Daragh Melville netted the third goal for the Lilywhites with five minutes remaining.

They will now play Westmeath who beat Antrim by 2-14 to 1-14 in today's second semi-final in Dowdallshill, Dundalk.
