Kilmainham's Pat O'Sullivan

Kilmainham 2-08 Dunsany 0-13

Kilmainham hosted Dunsany on a sunny Saturday evening finally winning by a point on a scoreline of 2-08 0-13.

It was a hard fought victory for Kilmainham who at times looked to have the game in the bag only for indiscipline to let Dunsany back into the game at the end of the first half. The team in Red and Black led by 2 at the break.

Kilmainham suffered the loss of full back Richie Brady to a 2nd yellow in the 12th minute of the 2nd half. The winners responded in the best possible fashion with a goal from full forward Pat O'Sullivan who seems to grow a few more inches everytime he pulls on the Kilmainham jersey.

Kilmainham settled being down to 14 men and raced into a 5 point lead half way through the 2nd half. Dunsany then responded with there best spell of the game kicking 5 unanswered points leaving the minimum in it. Substitute Shane Butler gave Kilmainham a little more breathing space putting 2 in it. Butler had the chance a few minutes later to put 3 in it but he couldn't take his point.

Kilmainham ran out 1 point winners on a scoreline of 2-08 to 0-13.

Kilmainham will hope to improve on there shooting accuracy with a number of bad wides and balls being sent into the goalies hands before we welcome neighbours Cortown next Saturday 26th at 5pm in Kilmainham.
