FL Div 3: Bective remain unbeaten

Bective made it seven wins from seven outings with this comfortable win over Clann Na nGael at Bective.

The winners were the better team in the early exchanges and opened with 2 points from Cathal McConnell off the left boot after 7 minutes. Clann na nGael drew level with 2 points on the 12th and 13th minutes before McConnell added a further brace from play. Although guilty of kicking away much possession Bective continued to attack at pace and added a points Craig Roche and Marty Mulhall (2). An under strength Clann na nGael side struggled to penetrate a strong Bective defence throughout but they had a shot that hit the post and they converted a free kick on 24minutes. Mulhall pointed a 45m, added another free kick and a fine strike off the ground from 50m to go to the break with Bective 0-10 to Clann na nGael 0-3.                                      

The home side continued where they left off and created a number of good scoring chances early in the second half.  Kevin Brennan, and Michael Lyness added points from play plus 2 from Mulhall before Clann na nGael pointed on 18 minutes.  Clann na nGael, with a mountain to climb, gamely kept attacking and added a point from a free kick on 21 minutes and blasted a quick free low but just wide of the post.  It was all Bective to the finish with points from Mulhall (free kick) and again from play, followed by a point each from subs Ciaran Casey, Brian Cantwell and David Fitzpatrick.
