U17 HL: Great start for Trim

Trim 5-12 Clann Na nGael 0-10

Trim opened their U17 Hurling league with a good win over Clann Na Gael.

Trim got off to a quick start with points from Oisin Hackett and James Murray. Mikey Cole then pointed with a free 50 yrds out to go ahead 0-3 to 0-1. Ther winners extended their lead with a further 1-2 from Hackett and another two points from Cole. Clann na nGael reponded with three points but Ian Birmingham and Murray slotted over to leave Trim ahead at the break 1-9 to 0-4

The second half saw the efficient Murray score a superb hatrick of goals. Danny Colman netted after 10 minutes, Cole added another point and Birmingham scored 2 fine individual points from play. Clann Na nGael never gave up and scored six points in the second half.

Joey Cole stepped in to mind the goals in place of the injured Callum Buckley. Defenders Conal Rogers, Brian Bolger, Conor Quigley, Liam Reilly and Ben Holden were excellent while Dylan Farrell and Sean Mahony controlled the midfield very well.
