Does anyone have ideas about new players to join the panel in 2012?

It could be a case of a familiar return of old faces: C.Mortimer, Barry Moran, A.Kilcoyne anyone?

Barry Moran definitely deserves another chance, a chance at midfield more importantly. While i acknowledge that he has had his fair share opf injuries, i believe that he has not got a fair crack of the whip in his customary position that is in the centre of the pitch. He showed in 2006 U21 Final that he is one of the best mid fileders around, yet he was mainly played in full foward line post this win. We need him in the middle, as he is strong, athlethic, and far more mobile that our current mid filed pairings. Hope to see him lording it come 2012 and i believe he will, provided he stays free from injury.

Conor mort, Kilcoyne and pat Harte are good players to have for 2012. I don't think parsons will be involved. His work ethic wouldn't fit into the squad nevermind the team. He hasnt done alot for charlestown this year. Hopefully coen and Evan Regan will be given a chance to impress. Regan was very good against breaffy.

Regan is just out of minor this year now. A very big prospect for the future esp in this county where we are in need of some up coming scoring forwards, he has serious potential, but i wud hope to see him in the u21 line out this year and let him develop from there. pat harte getting back to fitness wud be an addition. im hearing shane mchale from kmore is playing well?

I think Conor Mortimer should be left where he is. Our forwards are doing grand without his presence. I think Kilcoyne and Parsons are defently worth another run both quality players. Shane Nally must be coming through soon, great player at underage. Dempsey from Swinford has impressed aswel otherwise think were solid enough at the back and dont have any midfielders in the county that would be good enough to come in bar Parsons.

If you think 1.20 conceded against Kerry is solid enough for the backs then I dread to think what you think solid is! Higgins, Cafferkey, Vaughan and t mort will hopefully be back in 2012. There are then two positions up for grabs at no. 2 and 4., if Higgins stays at no. 5. D geragty was deemed not good enough to be brought on when Cunniffe was struggling and either was chris Barrett. Tight marking corner backs are required and Cunniffe needs competition. I think there will be 5 or 6 new players added including Harte, Kilcoyne and probably Conor mort. Evan Regan, nally, coen will hopefully drive on. Tight marking corner backs should be the top priority though. The feeney brothers are good players but would be caught for pace in the corners.

If competition for places is to be increased we should see enough new blood to bring up to 5 player changes into the starting championship lineup next year. We're far from the finished article and will maybe need to take a step back from this year's overachivement in order to take 2 steps forward in 2013. I doubt we'll make the last 4 next year (though I didn't expect it this year either). Down went further than us last year, but they didn't use their progress as a platform to develop more... they thought they already had the team, and so wasted 2011. We shouldn't fall into the same trap. We need need 2 tight defenders, and at least one dependable mobile midfielder who's focussed on simple distribution to play alongside Aidan if he matures, Seamus if he doesn't, or maybe a totally new partnership? We have to sharpen our cutting edge in the ff line or least find a way to bring Freeman, Doherty, Varley or whoever into scoring positions rather than less proven finishers. We're back at the foot of the mountain again... 2011 will just have given the team a better map and the players there a better idea of what it's going to take.

What about that lad keane was minor full back a few years ago...team captained by nally. He was a terrific full back. We still need more bite in attack. Doing if the league counts for little if ur quiet in the summer. We will see how freeman and Doherty do next year. I'd lie to see my nelly and kilcoyne brought in in spring.

I think Mayo need to look at the older lads (25+) like Michael Conroy, Barry Moran and Trevor Howley. I know Conroy has been out of the scene a while but he's the type of forward who can win 50/50 ball inside and take his score. He also played very well for Mayo juniors this year so still has something to offer. Barry Moran needs to be given a sustained run in MIDFIELD not full forward provided he can stay fit! Also I'm sick of hearing that hes had his chance and failed as it is not true. Trevor Howley also needs to return and also be put into corner back as there is a dearth of talent in this position.

As regards the younger lads (19-24), I hear this Geraghty lad is playing well for Ballintubber he might be worth a look in the league. Darren Coen played well at minor level last year and was one of the best forwards Mayo have had at minor levels in recent years so I would certainly try and incorporate him into the Mayo set up next year. Shane Nally and Danny Kirby would be others who I would like to see given a run.

would sack the minor and u21 management team they haven't produced sick of hearing excuses both had home fixtures in castlebar this year and played of the park by ros common.

revamp whose picking the underage players and bring in independent scouts to pick big strong underage talent not pick small weak daddy played years ago young players which seems to be the case .

as a mayo supporter we need change the present structure the current structure not working.
