There will be no big football shocks this weekend if Colm O'Rourke's predictions in Goalpost in Saturday's edition of the Racing Post prove correct. Colm O'Rourke is backing Derry in the battle of Ulster: "I was impressed with Derry in the opening round. Donegal really put it up to them and it looked as if they could hang on, but just when Donegal seemed to be getting on top, Derry responded very well. "At slightly better than even money, Derry are a decent bet to crack the three-point handicap." O'Rourke fancies Mayo to emerge victorious in the Connacht football championship: "I think Sligo are a bet with a six-point start against Mayo. In recent times, Mayo haven't shown any signs of hammering anyone and they don't look to have a settled team at the moment. They will probably have enough in hand to get to the Connacht final but I don't see them beating teams by six points." The Meath legend believes that Wexford will end Laois' run in this years Leinster championship. "Wexford represent good value to beat Laois outright. People said after Wexford's thrilling comeback in the quarter-final that Meath collapsed but Wexford have a lot of good players. I wasn't that impressed with Laois against Wicklow. I think they're a team that are finding it difficult to make that breakthrough again."
