Mayo County Board has moved to dismiss rumours that some senior players are unhappy with joint-managers Pat Holmes and Noel Connelly.

Stories of player discontent have been doing the rounds online and amongst fans but, speaking to The Mayo News, secretary Vincent Neary has attributed the gossip to the fact that it's a "time of year when there's nothing else" happening.

Neary insists there are no problems and adds that the planned review of Mayo's season will include a review of the management team.

He also confirmed that former senior boss John Maughan has been nominated for the county U21 post and will be interviewed, as will Michael Solan and Anthony McGarry.
