Mayo football star Conor Mortimer is to run for the post of DCU student union president. Mortimer will contest the election with two other candidates, with Mayo manager and TD John O'Mahony have jokingly said that he will join him on the campaign trail. The former All-Star forward is a well-known face on campus, having won a Sigerson Cup medal with the Glasnevin outfit two years ago, though combining student politics and inter-county football would lead to a hectic schedule.
