Results: Under 21 Championship Clan Na Gael 1-12, O'Connell's/Stabannon/Mitchells 1-8: Under 18 Division 3A semi-final O'Connell's/Stabannon/Mitchells 1-7, Naomh Fionnbarr/Lannleire 1-10.

 

U21: Our under 21 team fell at the first hurdle last Friday night against the Clans by four points. We were short a few players, but had plenty of chances and but for some wayward shooting the result would have been a lot closer.

Draw: Louth will play Wicklow in the 2017 Leinster Championship after the draw was made last Thursday night and the winner of that game will play Meath in the quarter final.

 

Bingo: Bingo will continue in our clubrooms this Wednesday 19th October at 8.00pm, jackpot €2,300 in 48 numbers.

 

New Arrival: Congratulations to O'Connell's member Belinda Cotter and her husband Turlach on the birth of their baby boy Alfie.

 

Safe talk Training: Safe talk training will take place in Darver on Saturday November 19th from 10am to 1.30pm. This training teaches participants to engage persons who might be having thoughts of suicide. The HSC provides coaches and they particularly ask that all coaches be trained, no experience is required. All participants will receive certificates at the end of training; anyone wishing to attend must be registered with the HSE before 23rd October. Any of our coaches wishing to attend please contact our secretary as soon as possible.

 

Louth: Aaron Hoey has become part of the Louth management team, the St. Brides clubman replaces Ollie McDonnell who after two years has decided to step aside. Derry man Paddy Crozier has also decided to step down from his role as Louth coach with his replacement yet to be confirmed.

 

Social Dancing: There will be social dancing on Bank Holiday Monday 31st October in our clubrooms from 9.00pm, Music by Declan Aungier, admission €10 and refreshments will be served.

 

First Responders: CRF cardiac first responders Castlebellingham/Dromiskin is being set up in the area and is looking for more volunteers. CRF trained members assist the community and ambulance service with certain medical emergencies. For more info check their Facebook page Castlebellingham/Dromiskin CRF or contact Karen on 0872706849. Early Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation saves lives. It doesn't matter who does it. What does matter is that it happens fast.
