David Reid Mattock Rangers

David Reid inspired Mattock Rangers to a 6-7 to 0-13 win over O'Connells as he finished the game in Collon with a personal tally of 4-4 to help keep his team top of Division 1.

Reid struck early in the game to help the hosts lead by 1-4 to 0-1, and they pushed on from three with further goals from Brian Corcoran and James Caragher before Reid fired in his second to make it 4-5 to 0-4 at the break.

It was always going to be difficult for O'Connells to comeback from that deficit although they did continue to battle and landed some fine scores with Cian Doyle and Robert Quigley finding their range. However, the goals were coming at the other end and Reid added two more to complete a memorable day.

The Dreadnots also made it three from three as they returned home from Kilkerley with a 3-9 to 1-8 win over the Emmets.

St Patricks remain in the group of four on maximum points as they came from behind at the break to defeat St Fechins by 0-13 to 0-9 in Lordship.

In their opening two fixtures, the Pats based their victories on strong first half performances, but on this occasion it was the Termonfeckin had the better of things. With the wind in their backs and Ronan Holcroft in fine form, they took a 0-7 to 0-5 lead at the short whistle.

Those five points against the wind proved crucial in a close second period but the Pats strength told in the end as they landed four points in the final five minutes to chalk up another victory.

Sean O'Mahonys recovered from a seven point deficit to make it three out of three with a 1-13 to 0-11 win at home to Nh Mairtin.

The Monasterboice side had the wind in their backs in the first half and looked to making full use of if as they led by 0-8 to 0-1. Two late points from the O'Mahonys kept them within striking distance at half time.

An early goal from Vinny Smith combined with Kevin Brennan's save from a JP Rooney penalty helped keep the O'Mahonys level on points with the league leaders.

St Marys got back to winning ways when a solid display at The Ramparts on Sunday helped them record a 2-10 to 0-6 victory.

The first half was a very even affair with the first six points shared. The Ardee men edged ahead but on the stroke of half time Karl Faulkner got on the end of a Darren Clarke centre to give his side a 1-4 to 0-3 lead.

The visitors took firm control of the match when Clarke's early point was followed by a goal from Niall Eccles to increase the lead to eight points. The Ardee men were always on top from that stage as the Gaels never looked like making a comeback.

Newtown Blues recorded their first win of the Division 1 campaign thanks to a 1-14 to 2-4 win at home to Drogheda rivals, O Raghallaighs.

A very strong first half performance by the home side paved the way for this victory as the scoring power of Colm Judge and Robert Carr helped them to a 0-10 to 0-1 lead at the break.

A goal from Robert Carr helped the Blues increase their lead to 14 points in the second half, before the O Raghallaighs hit back with two late goals to give the scoreline a better look at the final whistle.
