O'Connells made it two wins from two played when they came from behind to score a 0-12 to 0-5 win over Kilkerley at The Grove on Sunday afternoon.

In a low-scoring first half Kilkerley went in at the break leading by 0-3 to 0-2 thanks to a late Sean McElroy point as they looked to build on their win over the Blues.

However, it was the O'Connells who rose to the challenge and with Niall Conlon and Robert Quigley brining their tallies for the game to four points apiece they went on to claim a deserved win.

St Patricks also made it two wins from two in Division 1 with a hard-earned 1-11 to 0-8 win over Sean O'Mahonys on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts were in good form in the first half but didn't avail of all their chances and allowed the Pats to go in at the break on level terms at four points apiece.

The Lordship side upped their game after the restart and edged ahead before an Eoin O'Connor goal ten minutes from time settled the issue.
Cooley Kickhams early season woes continued on Saturday night when they suffered a 4-6 to 0-12 defeat at home to Dundalk Gaels.
The hosts lost to Nh Mairtin in their first outing and were facing an uphill task at half time as the Gaels went into a 3-1 to 0-6 lead thanks to goals from Sean McCann, David McComish and Anthony McSorley.

McSorley grabbed his second goal with nine minutes remaining to seal a first win of the season for the Dundalk men.

A strong second half display helped Dreadnots record their first win of the campaign as they came from behind to defeat Nh Mairtin by 1-13 to 0-8.

The Mairtins had the better of the first half in Monasterboice on Wednesday night but a series of missed chances saw them go in at the break trailing by 0-6 to 0-5.

The Dreadnots made them pay for those errors when they kicked 1-4 without reply in the second half to secure the win, with the goal coming from Conor Campbell.

Newtown Blues bounced back from their surprise defeat to Kilkerley in the opening game to see off the challenge of neighbours O Raghallaighs by 1-8 to 0-6.

The O Raghallaighs started well but the Blues hit back in the second quarter to go in at the break level at three points apiece.

The game remained evenly balanced in the second half but a goal from Barry Sharkey helped give the Blues the edge at the final whistle.

Mattock Rangers came out on top in a high-scoring encounter in Collon on Sunday as they defeated Geraldines by 4-15 to 3-10.

The Gers stuck two early goals through Stephen Reidy and Josh Arrowsmith before they were cancelled out by efforts from David Reid and Keith Hamill. However, a Barry Hamilton three-pointer had the visitors 3-5 to 2-5 up at the break.

The Gers looked to be on their way to victory in the second half but late goals from Shane Grimes and James Caraher saw Mattock snatch victory.
