Oliver Plunketts made it two wins from two when late scores saw them record a 3-13 to 1-15 win over St Brides in Knockbridge on Sunday afternoon.

John Moroney scored the first goal of the game and then saw the Brides miss a penalty before a second Plunketts goal saw the teams go in level at the break, 2-2 to 0-8.

Despite playing against the wind, the Brides raced into a seven point lead with the help of a Joe Hanna goal. However the Drogheda men hit back late on and a Brian Fitzpatrick goal helped them secure victory.

Following their opening round draw against Na Piarsaigh, St Mary's secured a comfortable 3-19 to 1-8 win over Young Irelands in Ardee on Wednesday night.

Two goals from Jamie Rooney had the Marys leading by 2-10 to 1-2 at half time, with Mark Savage replying for the visitors.

The home side was always in control in the second half and with the help of a Fergal Diamond goal they were comfortable winners at the final whistle.

Two late points from Conall O'Hanlon helped St Josephs overcome a slow start to claim a 0-13 to 1-9 victory over Na Piarsaigh on Sunday afternoon.

The Dundalk men dominated the first half and a David Boyle goal helped them lead by 1-4 to no score on 20 minutes, before they went into the break leading by 1-6 to 0-3.

The Joes hit back in the second half but just when it looked as if Na Piarsaigh would hold out, O'Hanlon popped up to score two late points and claim the victory.

A highly entertaining game in Louth Village on Sunday afternoon saw St Mochtas score their first win of the league season when they edged past Hunterstown on a 3-8 to 1-13 scoreline.

There was little between the sides throughout but a first half goal from Nigel Farrell had the Mochtas 1-4 to 0-6 ahead at the break.

Ryan Burns led the Rovers charge in the second half as he finished with nine points, but goals from Danny Kindlon and Nigel Farrell ensured the Mochtas came out on top.

Meanwhile, Clan na Gael saw their excellent run to the start of the season come to an end as St Fechins came out on top by 2-9 to 0-7 at Beaulieu on Sunday afternoon.

The game between Roche Emmets and Glyde Rangers scheduled for Friday night was postponed due to a bereavement.
