Geraldines GFC held a hugely successful Mighty Marquee Weekend. Friday saw Strictly hit the stage and we had 17 fantastic couples throw their shapes on stage. The winning couple were Derek Mernagh and Laura Hackett, well done on a brilliant dance. On Saturday we had 5 shows compete for the TV Hits ‘Oscars’. Gavin and Stacey were the winners in a fantastic evening’s entertainment. Our congratulations to not only the winners, but to all of those who took part as they contributed massively to a hugely enjoyable and successful weekend. Our thanks to all those who helped put the weekend together, our contestants, those who purchased tickets, helped fundraise and finally to all our sponsors who gave so generously. The weekend truly was a great one, and was supported well by our community.

Next Sunday our Senior Ladies will face Tinahely, Co.Wicklow in the Leinster Club Championship. The match will take place in the Gers on Sunday 5th Oct with a 2 pm throw in. We urge everyone within the Gers Community to come and show their support to the girls who have had a fantastic journey in 2019.

While the season is starting to come to an end for many of our teams, we still have some activity within our juvenile sector and we urge all our supporters and followers to keep an eye on our social media platforms for up to date information. We wish all of our teams the best of luck in their upcoming games, some of which are finals and semi-finals. Please support the teams where you can.

Our Lotto is now €9,400.00; our jackpot has not been won for several months. We are very grateful to all those who support the Club. The monies raised are vital and enable us to maintain and upgrade our club facilities for all the parish to enjoy. Remember – you need to be in it to win it!!!! €2 could see you €9,400.00 richer!!!
