Former Cavan footballer Mickey Graham will be forever remembered in Mullinalaghta after he guided the club to their since county SFC title since 1950 last weekend.

Graham's charges overcame neighbours Abbeylara in the final and the scenes at the final whistle were a joy to behold.

The former Cavan footballer admitted to the Longford Leader that it was the player's belief that got them across the line.

"I have to say, this was all about the players," stressed Graham. "They were the ones who put in the effort, they are the ones who came and turned out for training every night it was asked of them and I am delighted for them because at the end of the day you get out of football what you put into it.

"There wasn't one man that cut corners or made up excuses looking not to train. They rolled up their sleeves and they deserved that win."
